New Class & New Instructor!

Kids (Ages 9 – 12)

Join us for a six-session journey with Jordan Fiordaliso, a professional photographer, where we’ll unveil camera and mixed-media printing techniques that will elevate your image-capturing abilities. Our aim is to ignite your creativity, empower you to take your photography to new heights, and create a portfolio of work that you are proud of! In these sessions, we’ll equip you with innovative ideas and inspire you to explore photography in a multi-dimensional way. Our focus is on enhancing your composition skills, encouraging you to see the world through a more creative lens, and learn how to use other techniques – such as painting, as a tool for your photography. Elevate your photography game, embrace experimentation, and learn the art of crafting truly mesmerizing images!

GOALS
1. Learn the basics of photography: composition, rule of thirds, color theory, and camera settings, theme, project titles.
2. Learn the different types of photography + lighting setups: landscape, portrait, still life, journalistic, and self portraits.
3. Create a body of work both inside and outside of the classroom: students will use their skills from the previous classes to do shooting assignments.
4. Learn the art of critiques: students will showcase their work each week, and will receive feedback from the class.
5. Learn about mixed media photography methods: printing/painting/scanning, collage/juxtaposition, textures/fabrics/scanning, etc.
6. Create a final mixed media photography project: Students will choose a type of photography, and type of mixed media photo technique, and apply both to their own photo series.
7. Final presentation: Each student will end the last class with 3 final mixed media photographs with a cohesive theme and project title.
