Discover the beauty of unpredictability in this hands-on Raku pottery class. Rooted in traditional Japanese techniques and embraced by modern ceramic artists, Raku firing produces unique, crackled, and metallic finishes that make each piece one of a kind.

In this course, you’ll learn the entire Raku process—from forming and glazing to the dramatic outdoor firing that makes Raku so exciting. After placing your work in a red-hot kiln, we’ll pull it out at peak temperature and transfer it into combustible materials, creating stunning effects through smoke and rapid cooling.

Perfect for both beginners and experienced adult and teen potters, this class emphasizes experimentation, creativity, and embracing the unexpected. No two pieces are ever the same, and that’s exactly the point.

Materials included. Be prepared to get a little messy and have a lot of fun!
