We are excited to announce the launch of an ambitious film project at the Markeim. The goal is to bring together individuals from across our community to create a short film, culminating in a premiere event in just six months!
We will invite everyone (over the age of 13), from complete beginners to seasoned professionals, to learn the movie-making process and bring this film to life.
Our goal is to unite diverse talents, including aspiring filmmakers, writers, actors, designers, musicians, and more, to collaborate on every aspect of filmmaking—from brainstorming story ideas to promoting the final film.
The Initial Plan:
- Weekly Meetings: The team will meet once a week for collaborative sessions where we will develop, produce, and promote the film. Weekly meetings will include instruction or lectures from community experts.
- All Skill Levels Welcome: From a curious amateur looking to explore filmmaking for the first time or a professional eager to give back to the community, there will be a place in this project. Meetings will be for high school and up, with select tracks bringing in younger ages.
- Hands-On Experience: Volunteers will work together to write, direct, act, and produce the short film, as well as handle technical roles like editing, sound design, and marketing.
Key Experts We Are Looking For:
- Writers and Storytellers – Help shape the film’s narrative.
- Actors – Guide and shape the actors.
- Producers & Directors – Guide the creative and logistical aspects of the project.
- Cinematographers, Editors, & Sound Designers – Capture, edit, and enhance the visuals and audio.
- Set Designers, Costume Designers, & Prop Makers – Create the world in which the film will take place.
- Marketing & PR Team – Help promote the project and the final premiere.
