Create a mini masterpiece - A majestic cardinal (symbol of love, devotion, friendship and home) perched on a snowy branch.

Each attendee will leave with a finished 4” X 6” mini canvas painting and a display easel.

DREAMS OF HERE features over 16 new vibrant mixed media paintings by Artist Danielle Cartier. On view now through March 23, 2023.

Danielle Cartier is best known for her mural projects and large-scale, mixed media paintings made from reconstructed materials, recombined ephemera and layered printmaking and painting processes. Her work has been viewed in various solo and group exhibitions across the United States. Danielle has experience teaching studio art courses, 2D design, color theory and painting courses at universities, non-profits and community art centers throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Art of Culture: Celtic Knots

Join us for a fun Irish culture experience! Learn about Irish traditions and the history of Celtic knots. Using clay, participants are invited to make a traditional knot or design one of their own.  Art will be fired, glazed, and returned to artists.

Enjoy Irish music and dancing! Homemade Irish Soda Bread will be served.

Haddonfield Memorial High School Senior Art Show

The Markeim Arts Center is proud to host the Haddonfield Memorial High School Senior Art Show on April 1 -2, 2023.  This special exhibition of paintings, digital designs, photography and drawings represents students' imagination, learned techniques, and talent.

Exhibiting students will be on-site to share their artwork with their families, fellow students, and visitors discussing their inspiration, interpretation and the significance of their pieces.  Student art will be available for purchase. A portion of the sales will go towards the Markeim Arts Center Scholarship to be presented to a student at the upcoming HMHS Senior Awards Night.

Markeim Arts Center is pleased to present an exciting new exhibition! Bruce Garrity: History, 25 Years At The Markeim Arts Center. Bruce Garrity is an award-winning artist and teacher who holds a Master Of Fine Arts Painting Degree. He is also a 2022 New Jersey State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellow. Garrity frequently exhibits his artwork in NJ, PA and DE.

This exhibition features a retrospective look at Garrity’s work since 1998. The show references Markeim exhibitions which featured his work as historic touchstones, beginning with “Partners in Art” a two-person show with his wife Noreen Scott Garrity. Garrity's use of bright colors and bold brushstrokes engages and captivates the viewer. This collection will highlight the full range of his subject matter, figures, still life, and landscapes in both oil paintings and drawings.

Garden Bon Bons

Here’s a creative twist for Mother’s Day candy!

Kids will have fun shaping clay seed pod bon bons for growing herbs. The bon-bons will be placed in mini- cupcake liners in boxes hand decorated by the young artists. The finished project looks just like a box of candy…..made with love!…. a sweet gift to celebrate Moms!

Garden bon bons dissolve into the soil as they are watered. Basil, thyme, lavender, parsley, and oregano herbs should sprout within 1-3 weeks. Hand-outs with planting and growing instructions will be provided.
